The DUMBO Arts Cluster
The DUMBO Arts Cluster is the force behind DUMBO.IS/CULTURE - the new home for all of the amazing cultural and creative offerings available in DUMBO. DUMBO was named by artists occupying lofts "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge" in the 1970s - and today, arts, design, literature and performances abound in this waterfront community. Last year, New York City officially named DUMBO as one of the City's premier cultural destinations with an Arts Cluster designation and cultural tourism grant from the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
The DUMBO Improvement District proudly oversees the Arts Cluster -- which is a council of arts and cultural organizations in the neighborhood working together to support and foster the local cultural community. The Arts Cluster is comprised of leadership from the Brooklyn Arts Council, St. Ann's Warehouse, Galapagos Arts Space, AIR Gallery, Dumbo Arts Center, Smack Mellon and Two Trees Management.
