Gunner Williamsʼ personal obsession with classic American muscle cars and arena concerts inspired this large-scale installation which aims to literally grab you as its high impact color “tendrils” made of hardened string can reach out up to 3 feet. This project is a tribute to Williamsʼ friendship with Maynard James Keenan, frontman of the band TOOL, and is aptly named “Top Banana” after the 1970 Chrysler Superbird and Challenger auto enamel used to created this “in-your-face” interpretation of a TOOL concert.
"Top Banana" is on display at Superfine Bar from March 5-24.
